Washi tapes can stick to your photo but only if they are glossy. This makes them easier to hold on to. In fact, we can apply a piece of washi tape to a glossy surface and the tape will not stick. But if you place a piece of washi tape on a photo that has a rough texture on it, it will stick very well.
If your photo has a white background, it is even better. This will protect the photo from being scratched. A matte photo will be easier to scratch. There is a good chance that you will not be able to replace your damaged photo if you were to hang it on a glossy surface.
Washi tapes are a great way to protect your photos. If you have a lot of photos that you want to hang, this may be a good idea. Some photo frames are made out Washi tape printing of canvas so they are durable and won’t break easily. But if you want to hang your photo right away, this may not be the best option for you.
As you know, washi tapes are made out of cloth. They are a little bit sticky so it is best to hang them on a surface that is not porous. Otherwise, the washi tape will absorb water and turn into a lumpy mess.
